CFO Knowledge Network Recap: Navigating Transactions – Financial, Operational and Tax Considerations for CFOs

Navigating Transactions - Financial, Operational and Tax Considerations for CFOs - 4

Great CFO Knowledge Network (CFO KN) discussion yesterday in New Haven on “Navigating Transactions: Financial, Operational, and Tax Considerations for CFOs,” with 40+ financial executives in attendance. It was a content-rich session with a lot of practical, real-world insight shared.

Thank you to our discussion leaders: Jessica McCauley, Katy Daiell, Ramsey Goodrich and Jeff Rossi. Also special thanks to CBIZ for hosting and supporting the CFO KN community.

A few themes that stood out:

  • Preparation is everything. CFOs who invest early in readiness create options and drive better outcomes.
  • Rollover equity continues to be a powerful tool when aligned correctly, offering both diversification and tax advantages.
  • ERP transitions and operational changes can create noise. Timing, and planning around them, matters.
  • Quality of Earnings (QofE) is a critical lever. It not only uncovers add-backs but can materially impact valuation.
  • Valuation ultimately comes down to risk. The more you can anticipate and mitigate issues ahead of diligence, the stronger your position.

Appreciate everyone who joined the conversation and shared perspectives.
