Publicly-Traded Biopharmaceutical Company
The client required a Controller to execute their SEC reporting requirements while building out the financial infrastructure to support significant anticipated growth. VSP arranged interviews with four candidates, including the selected candidate, within three weeks of starting the search. VSP advised both the client and candidate through the offer/acceptance process and helped all parties navigate a complex and unusually long pre-employment period.

VSP recently made its 40th placement with the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF). We are particularly proud of our 20 year relationship with the FAF. Over the years, we have identified and recruited policy professionals from the Big Four, national firms and corporate accounting policy functions to lead projects related to revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leasing, financial instruments, the conceptual framework, XBRL taxonomy and private company initiatives, among others. The client sought a well-rounded financial professional to replace a long-tenured incumbent and oversee the finance, administration, IT, legal and human resources functions. VSP introduced five candidates, all of whom were interviewed. The client would have been comfortable hiring two of the three candidates who advanced to the finalist stage. The entire process, from executed engagement letter to signed offer letter, took 51 calendar days.
Accounting Operations Build-Out
Private Equity-Backed Consumer Goods Company
The client was seeking to close two remote offices and consolidate their North American accounting operations at their Fairfield County headquarters, while integrating three ERP systems into one. The company tasked VSP with replacing more than twenty FPA, financial reporting, financial systems, general accounting and transactional accounting professionals over a two-year period. VSP successfully rebuilt the company’s finance function locally, overcoming challenges which included a historically competitive job market and a zero remote-work policy.
